Scripting

Step into your dream, one little scene at a time.

What is scripting?

The word scripting comes from writing a script, like writing the scenes and the story of a movie before they are brought to life.
Scripting plays with that same idea, except this time, the story you're exploring is your own.

You choose a little scene from the life you're dreaming of and write about it as if it has already happened. You step into that moment, describe it in as much detail as you like, and let yourself experience it as if you were already there, living it.

You don't need to write the whole story.
Each time you come back to this practice, you can just step into one scene.

The important part is to use the present or past tense rather than the future tense.
Don't write towards your dream, write from inside it.

So instead of: “One day, I would love to…”, “I hope that someday…” or “When I finally have…”,
step into the scene and tell the story from there:

“You won't believe what happened yesterday…”
“This morning I woke up and…”
“We've been living here for six months now and…”

For those few minutes, you get to write the next scene of your own story.

A writing ritual to explore your dream,
bring it to life through little scenes, and reconnect with how you want to feel.

I first discovered scripting a few years ago through a mindset and manifestation program.
And I'll be honest, the first time I tried it, it felt a little weird.

There I was, writing about something that hadn't happened yet as if it had, while a little voice in my head was going, “Yeah... okaaaay... sure.”

But after the first few sentences, I started getting into the story and suddenly the words started flowing and is tarted to feel real.

I could visualise the scene. I started adding little details, imagining conversations, places, people... and suddenly, I wasn't just writing about something I wanted anymore, I could actually FEEL it.

And that's what made me fall in love with this practice.

It shifts my energy. It gets my imagination flowing and allows me to visualise my desires in so much more detail.

And the more I get into the scene, the clearer I become about what I truly want (sometimes, I even discover little details I hadn't realised mattered to me until they appear in my writing.)

But most of all, it allows me to connect with the emotions of my dream NOW, before I'm actually living it.

coming back to...

A practice I keep

Dear Julie,

Oh my God, I can't believe it's already been six months since we last wrote. I have SO much to tell you.

You will NEVER guess what happened...

There are so many ways you can script.
You can start with a few words of gratitude, grab your journal and see where your imagination takes you. Or maybe writing isn't really your thing at all.

Sometimes, I don't write at either, I also LOVE voice-scripting.

I go for a walk somewhere that inspires me and record a voice note as if I were sending it to a friend, telling her what's happening in my life as though I'm already living it. Then I can listen to it again whenever I want to reconnect with that feeling.(I'm basically a professional voice-note podcaster anyway, haha.)

But if you ask me my favourite way to script?
I WRITE A LETTER.

I imagine I'm writing to someone I love.
A close friend, my sister, someone I haven't spoken to in months... and I have SO much to tell them.

My favourite way to script?

And that's usually all I need.
From there, I just let myself play. I step into a scene, add all those little details that make it feel real... and see where the story takes me.

How does this version of you feel? How do you move through your days?
What do you choose? What do you allow yourself to do?

The more you connect with this version of yourself, the more you can start bringing little pieces of it into your life today.

And that's when it starts to feel magnetic.

Let your dream illustration

WHY PAIR SCRIPTING
WITH YOUR DREAM ILLUSTRATION?

Before you start, create a little space for yourself. Find a cozy spot, light a candle or put on music that makes you feel inspired or empowered, and take a few deep breaths.

Grab your journal and sit in front of your illustration. This ritual is there to help you arrive, but what matters most is the energy you bring into this moment.

Then, take a moment to look at your illustration. Let it remind you of the dream we explored together : the places, the people, the symbols, the emotions... and the version of you who is living it.

When you pair scripting with your Dream Illustration, you're giving your imagination more than words alone to play with.

The illustration gives you the visual starting point.

Then, through scripting, you can step inside the scene and bring in everything the image can't show you: the sounds around you, the temperature of the air, the smell of your morning coffee, the feeling of someone's hand in yours...

Suddenly, you're creating a multisensory experience of your dream.

The images, words, senses and emotions come together to create a deeper imprint, something you can return to again and again,
until this dream starts to feel more vivid and familiar.

And as you connect with it, you start connecting with the version of you who is already living it.

You start EMBODYING your dream.

Your illustration captures one moment of your dream.
Scripting lets you explore everything beyond the frame.

Now, if your dream were already part of your life, what little moment
would you love to step into today?

A MOMENT YOU'RE PROUD OF?
Something you created, hosted, dared to do or finally allowed yourself to receive. Holding the first copy of a book you finally dared to write. Or looking around at something you created and thinking: I can't believe I get to do this.

OR MAYBE... WHO HAVE YOU BECOME?
How do you move through this life? How do you feel? What feels different about you now? Maybe you're leading a women's circle and suddenly realising how much trust people place in the space you've created. Maybe you're sharing your ideas freely instead of wondering whether you should hold them back.

Choose
your scene

A MOMENT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING?
The day you finally stepped onto that stage. The moment you arrived in the city you'd been dreaming of. The first time you walked into a place and somehow knew: “This is home.”

A BEAUTIFULLY ORDINARY DAY?
Drinking your morning coffee on your balcony. Waking up surrounded by nature while the city is still within reach. Having a slow morning and going surfing just because you have nowhere else you need to be.

SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED ALONG THE WAY?
The person you met while travelling who unexpectedly became part of your life. A dinner in France that turned into one of those evenings you never want to end. Or meeting someone in your new community and suddenly thinking: Oh... these are my people.

  • One day, I'm writing about the moment I finally got the keys in my hands.

  • Another day, it's Saturday morning and I'm cycling to the local market, chatting with one of my neighbours and coming home with fresh food to cook with everyone.

  • Or I write about the first Journey of a Dream exhibition at La Casita. The dreamers' illustrations are hanging on the walls. I write about who's there, the conversations we're having, and how it feels to stand in the middle of something I once only dreamed about.

Here is how I do it...

SAME DREAM. DIFFERENT DAY. DIFFERENT SCENE.

If you don't know the full story behind La Casita, my big dream is for it to become a real place one day: a sanctuary and coliving surrounded by nature, where people come to slow down, live in community, reconnect with themselves and make space for their dreams.

When I script about it, I step into completely different moments of that life as if I'm already living them.

NOTICE THE LITTLE THINGS.
What are you wearing? What's on the table? What did you order? What made you laugh?

FEEL IT.
The sun on your skin? Someone's hand in yours? The ground beneath your feet?

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, FEEL THE EMOTION.
How do YOU feel in this moment? Free? Proud? Peaceful? Alive? Loved? At home? Excited?

SEE IT.
Where are you? What's around you? What catches your eye? where are you?

HEAR IT.
Music? Voices? Birds? A busy street? Silence?

SMELL & TASTE IT.
The smell of fresh coffee? The taste of a homecooked meal? Salt in the air?

BRING YOUR SCENE TO LIFE

USE YOUR FIVE SENSES

Once you've chosen your scene, start adding the little details that make it feel alive. Bring in your senses.
The more you can
see, hear, smell, taste and feel the moment, the more vivid it becomes,
as if you're already there, living it

Before you start...

  • WRITE FROM INSIDE THE MOMENT.
Write a future moment as though it's already your current reality, using the present or past tense.

  • DON'T FORCE IT.
Let scripting be an inspired action, not another habit on your to-do list.

  • BE SPECIFIC.
Go beyond “I live in a beautiful house.” Add the little details that make this dream truly yours.

  • ONE SCENE AT A TIME
Don't need write your whole dream. Focus on one desire, one moment, one little scene to step into today.

  • FOLLOW THE FEELING.
How does it feel to be there? Peaceful? Free? Proud? Loved? Alive? Let the emotion guide the scene.

  • GO BEYOND YOUR ILLUSTRATION
We carry more than one dream in our hearts. Script beyond the frame, or explore a different dream.

WRITE TO LA CASITA

I love scripting as if I'm writing to someone I care about.
So if you'd like, write your script as a letter to La Casita and send it my way.
Tell me what's happening in your life as if you're already living your dream.
And I'll write back to you from inside that reality too.

Your dreams have been placed in your heart for a reason
